Job Description

The co-location of two environmentally focused companies called for a design and fitout that supported their work ethos but also their positive energy. The head office for Western Environmental and Coterra Environment also had to be adaptively planned to satisfy staff fluctuations over the coming years.
Given the blank canvas was four walls with a balcony and lots of natural light, it was important to create interest within the floor plate yet maximize natural light as much as possible. Conveying an outdoor feel was part of the brief and the impact as soon as you leave the lift is evident. A central meeting space was wrapped with custom designed plywood panels. Adjacent walls were also finished the same to create balance of colour and style. Comfortable hanging pod chairs beckon visitors and staff to take a relaxing seat above a whimsical grass covering. And a quirky signpost lets you know you’ve come to the right place.
To create functionality within the floor plan, work spaces have been designed on a modular grid either side of the shared utility space. Each company exists within their designated area which sits harmoniously with adjacent breakout and meeting spaces. A great coming together of two progressive businesses of like mind was successfully achieved.

Extent of Work:

Design, documentation & approvals – Preparation of concepts, design development and construction drawings to meet Building Code of Australia, state & local government requirements.
Building Works – Installation of new plasterboard and glazed partitioning. Custom designed plywood paneling over glazed partitioning and wall cladding. Vinyl checker plate flooring to entrance and service areas. Window treatments and balcony restoration works.
Services – Design and installation of new electrical services including, power and data.
Furniture – Installation of modular workstations to accommodate fluctuating staff numbers. Loose furniture installation including benches, tables and seating. Custom designed joinery to suit meeting areas. Custom built storage to accommodate client site equipment and storage.
Branding – Customised graphics to internal window glazing film. Corporate signage and sign posts.
