When completing a design and fit out project within a building that houses multiple organisations, you need to bring you’re ‘A’ game and never lose focus of the end result. And that’s exactly what we did when tackling the refurbishment of the Niche Building located within the QEII Medical Campus in Nedlands.
Being the home of various health-based services, we understood that works would require staging to ensure public access was maintained. And while working to an overall design and fit out brief for the entire space, we were required to look closer at each individual organisation. Understand how they worked individually and also how they interacted with adjoining services public spaces.
Both the Centre for Neurological Support (CNS) and Indigo Solutions (Independent Living centre) occupied the largest spaces within the Niche. They are both client focused but Indigo had a larger display and demonstration requirement opposed to the CNS which was more consultative. That said, all spaces required extensive demolition and staged fit out works in order to maintain their operation while being able to create new and exciting work spaces.
Design and Fit Out Delivered with Personality
Indigo and the CNS have different identities and we delivered for both when it comes to dynamic first impressions and functionality. Each space was also planned to offer flexibility for future organisational changes, should they arise. And to complete the Niche project, seminar, caterers kitchen and toilet facilities were also refurbished. The seminar space is now a dynamic, multi-purpose arena that accommodates everyone’s requirements. Topped with improved way-finding and a welcoming entry space, the Niche Building is ready to take on whatever comes it’s way.
