Telethon Kid’s Institute Discovery Centre

Design Scope

Working in conjunction with Exhibition Studios in South Australia, we are proud of the inspirational space we have created for sick children to enjoy within Perth Children’s Hospital.

Transforming the existing bare shell of this Discovery Centre required particular attention to acoustic detailing and the installation of user friendly ‘child proof’ surfaces. Every surface from floors, to walls and ceilings have some form of decorative and acoustic treatment applied to them.

Floors are a combination of vinyl surfaces in solid and timber finishes. Walls have been addressed with custom printed wallpaper and decorative acoustic panelling. Panelling continues up into the ceiling to echo the flooring pattern. Above the panelling all services were re-aligned to suit and wrapped to minimise their impact within this exciting interior.

A great result for a well established community focused organisation.
